There’s a quiet magic that happens in the studio. Sunlight spills across the workbench, catching the silver and gemstones scattered across the surface. The tools are ready, the metal is waiting, and the air is filled with possibility.

Here, the day slows down. You focus on the movement of your hands, the gentle rhythm of shaping, filing, and polishing. Each piece is personal — a reflection of your creativity and the care you put into it.

This summer, Tammy is offering just four private silversmithing sessions — one student, one instructor, five hours of hands-on learning. You’ll leave with a finished sterling silver pendant made entirely by you.

Private Silversmithing Session

• Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
• Length: 5 hours
• Class Size: One student per session
• Location: 10421 Westshore Road, Vernon, BC
• Price: $325

This private studio session offers a personal introduction to the art of silversmithing. You will learn how to transform a piece of sterling silver into a finished jewelry design using traditional jewelry-making techniques.

With one-on-one instruction, you will be guided through the entire process — from choosing your design, to sawing, to polishing and finishing your piece to add to your favourite chain.

What Is Included

• 5 hours of private studio instruction
• 2” square of sterling silver (20 gauge)
• Jewelry workbook
• Use of professional tools
• Your finished jewelry piece to take home (chain not included)

No experience is required. Only four private sessions will be available this summer.

Minimum Age

Participants must be 16 years or older. Under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian.

Studio Etiquette

This is a calm, respectful, creative space. Students are expected to follow studio guidelines and treat tools and fellow participants with care.

🌿 Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any jewelry experience?
Not at all. This workshop is designed specifically for beginners. You’ll be guided step by step, with hands-on support throughout the entire process.

What will I make during the workshop?
You’ll create one sterling silver pendant from start to finish, including a handmade jump ring. Chains are not included, but your pendant will be sized to fit most standard necklaces.

✨ Liability Release & Assumption of Risk

By signing up for these classes, the student acknowledges the risk and agrees to items #1 to #4.

1. Acknowledgment of Risk
I acknowledge that jewelry making involves the use of hand tools, sharp blades, metal, drills, and small equipment that require care, attention, and safe handling. I understand that participation may involve risks such as:

• Minor cuts or abrasions
• Muscle strain from repetitive movements
• Irritation from dust or metal filings
• Accidental injury from improper equipment use

I understand these risks and agree to participate responsibly and follow all safety instructions.

2. Release of Liability
I voluntarily agree to release, waive, and discharge Plein De Vie Jewelry and instructor Tammy Dammann from any and all claims, liabilities, or damages arising from my participation in this workshop, except in cases of proven negligence.

3. Personal Health & Safety
I confirm that:

• I am able to safely participate in a beginner jewelry class
• I will wear proper safety gear (safety glasses, hair tied back, closed-toe shoes, etc.)
• I will immediately inform the instructor of any discomfort or concern
• I will not use tools or equipment outside of instructor guidance

4. Photography Permission
I agree that you may photograph me / my hands / my project for studio or marketing use.

Your seat is confirmed once full payment is received. All materials, tools, and instruction are included in the class fee.

Cancellation Policy

Because class sizes are very small, cancellations affect the studio significantly. Please read carefully:

• Cancel 7 days or more before class → full credit toward a future class
• Cancel within 7 days → 50% credit applied to a future class
• Cancel within 48 hours → no credit (unless your seat is filled by someone on the waitlist)

Rescheduling: Free with minimum 72 hours’ notice, subject to availability.

If Plein De Vie needs to reschedule: On rare occasions, if the instructor needs to reschedule due to illness or emergency, you will be offered a new date or a full credit.

No-show policy: No-shows forfeit the class fee entirely.
